I would really like a Tutor Group picture, as I lost mine when I moved house. 

I started at Binley Park in Autumn of 82 and left in summer of 87.

See further down the page for an up to date picture of me, and also some pictures of a School trip to London in 1987, and my last day at school (1987).

I remember many things from Binley, how one of my first lessons was French on the top floor of High Block, taught by Mr Humphries (who later became Head of Languages at Tile Hill School and taught my younger sisters!)- a great man, a great teacher.

The first couple of years at Binley, (I may be wrong about this) I spent in different houses, I think it was a year per house, and then they decided to keep us as we were and so I stayed in Phoenix.

Our House Head was Mrs Strong until my 4th year (I think) and then we had Mr (Dick) Sankey.  Quite popular with all the girls  :)

I remember when the Ernesford merger was announced, Mr Harris retired and handed us over to the Head of Ernesford, I can't remember his name.

Hemaxi Patel (Now married and emigrated to Australia), Lorraine Hutchinson, Kally Chohan (Married, living in London?), Tina 'Pinhead' Williams, Guilia Lamon, Becky Ali, Rita Lakhani, Lisa Owen, Emma Quirke, Nick Whyte, Leigh Wilson, Dave Freeman, Dean Thomas (went to same Junior school and used to live down the road from me!), Darrell Bickley, James Rose, Neil McCulloch, Gareth Ebbrell, 'Fraz', Jamie Morrison, Darren Lawrence, Wai Ling Tse (year below me - Last I heard she was doing a university placement in China somewhere), Berni Graham, Lee Byatt & Rob Holt (I think I remember reading in the Coventry Evening. telegraph something about him going out to the far east to do some voluntary work - a few years back this is now...)

Other:

• Ice Cream Van at lunch, I think it was Mr Whippy!  He used to sell us an ice lolly (cola was nice) with a squidge of ice cream on it for 10p.
• 2p bus fares
• Silver plating 2ps in Chemistry and using them on the buses  :o
• Slipping on my way into assembly an taking my best mate down with me.
• Being awarded a plaque for outstanding achievement or setting a good example (I'd be able to tell you if I could find it!)
• The 'Ditch' for your birthday and/or Eggs & Flour
• The medical (and being told that I needed glasses!  I was devastated!)
• Nit Inspections in the assembly hall
• BCG & Rubella
• Statue
• 'Save Binley Park' campaign
• Friend, Mickey, who died from an epileptic fit on Halloween night, I think that was in 86.  Sorely missed by all.
• Detentions
• Art & Pottery classes!
• Making a Love Spoon in CDT
• Crafty smokes on the school bus! (I've quit now!)
• Fights with Caludon Castle
• One of the house heads having his jaw broken by one of the pupils (can't remember names).

 

	Left Binley in 87
	Studied at Tile Hill College and then at Coventry Tech and got 2 A Levels (Computers & Biology)
	Went to Coventry University 91-94 and left with a Dip H.E. in Comp. Sci. (got bored)
	Adopted 2 cats and a yorkshire terrier
	Started working for GPT (now Marconi) in 96.
	Today - Still there, having worked my way through IT, Internal Communications, Marketing Communications and now settling at Internet Standards.
